Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVTs) are a type of modular vinyl flooring, that has become increasingly popular over recent years.

Luxury vinyl tiles (more commonly known as LVT) are ideal for use in both commercial and domestic settings, renowned for their extensive array of different finishes, effects, colours and patterns, all of which are available at very competitive price points compared to other products, which only adds to their appeal.

How are Luxury Vinyl Tiles made?

LVT’s are made by tightly compressing five thin layers together. The bottom three layers consist of stabilising sheets of fibreglass, impact-resistant layers and moisture backing layers. Above this is a designed layer of a high-quality photograph, which is what gives this flooring the impression of wood or stone. The very top layer is a transparent protective coating, ensuring the tiles are both scratch resistant with a stain guarding technology.

– They are also tolerant of humidity and can comfortably adapt to changes in temperature. LVTs can be warmer to touch than natural flooring too.

– This type of flooring is also ideal for allergy sufferers as it is easy to clean, removing dust and dirt particles easily with a regular sweep and therefore naturally hygienic as a result.

– LVTs have sound-reducing benefits, making the flooring much quieter to walk on than wood or stone.
