Solid Wood Flooring

Wood Flooring is available as both a laminate or real engineered wood, however, both options can meet the required aesthetics and offer a great finish to both residential and commercial areas.

We provide both laminate and real engineered wood options, available in different lengths, widths and thicknesses, so it couldn’t be easier to tailor the look to suit your particular project.

Solid wood flooring will always be one of the top choices for both commercial and domestic properties alike, delivering very high standards in terms of strength and durability, of course, but also helping to add character and warmth to a wide variety of different interior settings.

The Mayfield Floors team can supply and install any kind of timber flooring, enjoying close relationships with the UK’s leading manufacturers to ensure that our clients are able to source top-quality products at competitive prices.

Engineered wood flooring is a great alternative to solid wood flooring as its appearance is similar whilst it can withstand high levels of moisture and changes in temperature too.

Engineered wood floors are made up an of high-quality plywood core which is the base layer that the decorative layer is then bonded to. This core provides the strength and stability to the overall floor. A decorative layer of pre-finished fine hardwood is above the core and is what makes this flooring appear like solid wood. This layer of real wood can be any thickness, and generally the thicker the layer; the longer life the flooring has as it can be sanded down multiple times during its lifetime.

Whereas engineered wood flooring has a natural decorative top layer of real wood, laminate flooring simply uses a print for its decorative top layer. Wood is used to construct laminate flooring in the form of wood chips in the HDF core, however real wood is not used for the decorative surface.

With both types of wooden flooring, there is a vast selection of different styles and colours available. Wooden floors, and in particular laminate floors, are much more affordable than solid hardwoods, and require less maintenance too, making it a favourable choice for many commercial settings.

Wooden flooring is seen as a form of luxury, which is why many businesses like leisure facilities, fitness and yoga studios, offices, salons, boutiques, photography studios and commercial properties choose it.
